About The Foundation
The Derrick Lute Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Non-profit Organization; established in 2023. It was created to continue the legacy of Derrick Keith Lute; devoted husband, loving father, and friend to many. Like so many others, Derrick lost his battle with COVID-19 on September 3rd, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife (Lorraine), and to carry on his legacy, his children.
The Derrick Lute Memorial Foundation was founded in 2023; the vision was to provide scholarships to qualifying high school seniors and college students who have been impacted and suffered a loss of a parent and/or guardian to COVID-19.
Our Mission Statement
The Derrick Lute Memorial Foundation was founded as a result of the many hardships and losses caused by COVID-19 Pandemic. We strive to provide aid and meaningful assistance to youth and young adults impacted by the catastrophe who have dreams of attending college. We accomplish this goal by networking, donations and the compassionate volunteers who share the same vision.
